The second-largest supernation in the world, Ar Titia takes pride in its long line of royalty and its recent strides in spirit technology. Though coming from a tradition of animistic religion, the reincarnation of the Spirit of Implanta, Rei, ten years ago has sparked a new religious faction that has surged through the nation. He now stands as a symbol for oncoming prosperity, the citizens believing his emergence to be a sign of victory and favor for Ar Titia.
To make up for their lag in magitechnology, Ar Titia has explored new routes to allow the nation to catch up to and overtake Ar Siance. As such, spiritech was invented by the nation's leading minds. Through the technology, new luxuries have been afforded to the people of the nation, such as electricity. The standard of living, therefore, has raised significantly across the board over the past two decades, and new discoveries are being made even now.
A rigid monarchical society, Ar Titia operates under a strict hierarchy and caste system. While not as bound to tradition as their neighboring nation, the people take pride in their artificial geneology, which outlines the hierarchy on both a microcosmic and macrocosmic scale. The Emperor alone rules over all the nation, with vassals who act as lords to smaller regions and areas of society. Alongside the Emperor is the Spirit of Implanta, who unilaterally rules over the religious sector of the nation, independent of the Emperor.
A large research facility near the Ar Titian capital of Cecet. While they do dabble in exsphere research to compete with Ar Siance, their focus is largely on developing spiritech after major breakthroughs with powerful fire spirits to gift the nation with electricity. Denera make up a large majority of the workers, but their status is close to that of slaves or indentured servants, unable to leave the institute freely and having little say in the research they perform. Many denera work there unwillingly but have few options for escape.
A sizable town at the edge of Ar Titia, near the Ar Sianci border and the fringes of the Dius Varda. Known mostly for its isolation from the rest of Ar Titia and its peculiar ostracization of the denera, it perhaps puzzlingly has a massive population of denera residents, making up almost fifty percent of the town's populace. Much of this is explained by many of these deneran inhabitants being refugees from either El Shefra or Ar Siance, which in turn can help to explain the hostility the denera face within the walls of the town.
Most Ar Titians are connected through a geneological web of artificial and religious design due to the prominence of family in the doctrine. As such, there is a sense of connectedness and unity throughout the nation, and that unity defines the hierarchy by which the people conduct their lives.
The concept of "family" itself is one that enforces the caste system, rather than being one of equality or closeness; there are no particular bonds between members of the geneological line other than that of lord and vassal. These lord and vassal bonds are forged through ritual blood binding, which allows a servant to be permanently tied to their master and thus be under the complete control and protection of the lord.
To perform the ritual, a would-be lord and vassal pair must slice open their flesh and press their wounds to each other, so as to combine the blood and intake each other's. These blood ties form the basis for the artificial geneology in Ar Titia, marking servitude and lordship in an irreversible bond that ties the whole nation together in the blood of the people.
Often people of Ar Titia cannot find permanent work without undergoing the ritual blood binding, thus permanently positioning them inside the hierarchy. Simultaneously, the citizenship of a person is called into question if they cannot be placed within the artificial geneology tying them back to the Emperor's line. This also makes gaining citizenship relatively easy, since any given person can bind their blood to a lord, thus naturalizing themself as part of the Emperor's line.
The geneology and lord-vassal relationship is among the most important bonds in Ar Titian culture, often becoming even more important than birth relatives because of how radically the blood ties can alter a person's life, privileges, and rights. These relationships are stressed as not only honorable, but imperative for a successful nation and individual life. Lords and vassals are considered blood relatives and familial, and many even behave as such a family unit.
