Kuro

Tetora: Ossu! What kinda training are we doing today?!

Kuro: ‘Sup. We’re jumping rope.

Tetora: Huh? Jump rope? It’s not that I don’t wanna, but it doesn’t seem like it has anything to do with karate...?

Kuro: Don’t say that. It’s good for practicing your footwork, and for building up your stamina.

So I got you a jump rope. You can start by trying out the basic jump.

Tetora: Got it! Nagumo Tetora reporting for duty!

Uwooooh!

Kuro: Hmm, looks like you’ve got no problem with the basics. Then you wanna take on the double under?[1]

Tetora: Ossu! Just gotta turn it faster~...

Ow?! Urgh~ My feet got all tangled up in the rope—I totally faceplanted there!

Ngnghggh, wiggling around just got me even more tangled~?!

Kuro: Calm down, Tetsu. If all ya do is turn it faster, you’re gonna get all caught up in it. I’ll try clapping my hands so you can get a feel for the rhythm.

It’s fine, no need to get all flustered. Just go at your own pace.

Tetora: Taishou... Okay, I’ll keep going! I’ll show you I can master this double under~ ♪

  1. A double under is when you flip the rope twice in the span of time it takes you to jump once.
