The Brutes and the Nobles 2

Wataru: In any case, since I’m the one with the most free time and the fewest obligations... I shall defer to everyone else’s schedules.

We could take this time to relax and enjoy ourselves, or we can engage in practice and work.

Eichi: Hm... What should we do? It’s hard to decide. I don’t usually think ahead too far in the future, so setting plans like this is pretty novel for me.

Wataru: Actually, are none of you going on summer getaways this year? I have this impression in my mind that wealthy people do that often, but my perspective may be biased.

Eichi: Oh, before high school I went overseas almost every summer. In my case, it doubled as convalescence.

Vampire or not, summer rays can be poisonous to the body.

Yuzuru: For your information: the Himemiya family goes on vacation around the beginning of the break every year.

However, this year the Mister’s work has kept him rather busy. If he can’t return home, the trip may be canceled.

Eichi: Oh, I heard about that. The plans we make will be tentative, under the assumption that you may be absent during that time.

But the Himemiyas are busy. Because they’ve been rapidly expanding their business... Well, I’m sure Tori’s parents are handling everything without issue.

Tori: Yep. There’s nothing I can do about it, but I can’t help but feel lonely that I hardly ever see Mama and Papa anymore.

Wataru: Oh, you poor thing. We shall give you all the more love in your Mama and Papa’s steads~ ☆

Tori: Hey, stop hugging me! What gives you the right?! I’m Himemiya Tori, you know! You have some nerve touching me like that! Cut it out!

(...Ehehe. To be honest, I’m not as lonely as I could be with Mama and Papa gone, since everyone in fine is always here with me.)

(But I shouldn’t get too reliant on them, right?)

(fine’s the strongest unit at Yumenosaki, after all.)

(We can’t go pretending to be all buddy-buddy or family-like with each other like the dumb nobodies of the world.)

(But... it’d still be really fun if all of us went on a vacation somewhere like a tropical island for summer break.)

(No work, just playing in the ocean and talking into the night—)

(But I’m sure that’d be an unnecessary detour for fine.)

Yuzuru: (Hm. I can see right through you, sir; I know what you’re thinking. I haven’t served as your butler all these years for show.)

(Despite how selfish you are at home, around fine you tend to hold yourself back...)

(You never voice your true feelings and instead shut them away.)

(There is where I come in handy; I can suggest it myself.)

Pardon me for speaking up on the matter, but I was wondering... during this break period we have, why don’t we all go on vacation to a tropical island, or something of the sort?

Eichi: Vacation? That’s unexpected coming from you. Uh... hmm?

Tori: Hang on, what are you talking about, Yuzuru? Are you crazy? A vacation’s so... I mean, it sounds so fun!

But fine doesn’t have time for that, do we?

Eichi: No, we can certainly consider it.

Going forward, fine will be aiming toward international expansion. But before we can start touring overseas, we’ll need to scope out the locations and get a feel for the atmosphere there.

So how about this, my adorable Tori? It won’t just be a vacation, but also an training camp, as well as a rehearsal for that tour overseas.

We’ll do intensive training while we try our hands overseas, where we’ll be performing in the future.

We can leave the muggy heat of Japan behind and get optimal practice in a nice environment. If we put on a live show and gain international fans now, it will benefit us later, too.

Good idea, Yuzuru. If you’re all okay with that plan, I say we go for it.

For the record, I already get plane tickets and such sent to my home in piles without even asking, so we can choose any destination we’d like.

Would you prefer cool highlands or a tropical island? Fufu, I’m getting excited.

Tori: Huh? Huh? Are you sure, Prez...?

Eichi: I am. I learned the hard way during the Restoration Live: sometimes detours and a little whimsy are necessary.[1]

At the same time, wandering around aimlessly is foolish, so we should aim to add meaning and value wherever we can. We should take the time to plan what we’re going to do and solidify the details.

Oh... I just need to confirm: you have a passport, right Wataru?

It’ll be almost impossible to enjoy our vacation anywhere in the country, so I’d prefer to go overseas if we can.

Wataru: Yes, I’ve been performing in shows overseas since I was young.

I believe the passport I used then is still valid.

Tori: Wait, really...? This is awesome! So that means we can all go on vacation together?

W–well obviously it’s a training camp, so we’ll be working too, right?

(Ehehe... thanks, Yuzuru. Did you figure out what I was thinking and suggest it for me?)

Yuzuru: (Yes. It is a butler’s duty to fulfill his master’s wishes to the greatest extent possible, at all times.)

Eichi: Stop communicating with just your eyes... Since you brought this up, Yuzuru, would you mind taking the reins and hammering out the details for this?

Yuzuru: Pardon me? You want... me?

Eichi: Yes. You lack initiative, so I’d like to see you take the lead for once and be more proactive.

It’s a good opportunity for it... Even if you fail, it won’t result in any serious incidents or disasters, so I’d like to let you handle it.

Yuzuru: Sigh... well, I am skilled at organizing schedules and the like, so I should be able to do this without any issues.

Eichi: How dependable. All right then, let’s raise the bar a little higher, then. If you don’t make consistent effort to challenge yourself and overcome ever higher hurdles, you’ll never grow as a person.

I’m adding a few conditions to our vacation plans.

I’d like you to design, plan, and spearhead the most fun vacation you possibly can, while simultaneously meeting all of my unreasonable demands—I mean, the conditions I’ve set.

I’m expecting great things from you. Good luck... Yuzuru. I hope you’ll create truly wonderful memories of summer for us.
