Yuzuru: Fufu. Your avarice knows no bounds, President-sama; you are still striving to grow.
Eichi: My days are rather numbered; I live every minute, every second of my life to the fullest.
Judging from what happened at the DDD, it seems that everyone at Yumenosaki Academy is willing to go along with me instead of shutting me out...
The expectations I have for them are my true feelings; there is no ulterior motive.
A supernova can cause a whole universe to be born. I want to see that, somewhere beyond the event horizon.
...The show is about to begin. Please, take your seat.
Yuzuru: As you wish. It would be a great reassurance to me to know that you will remain the subject of my master’s admiration as long as possible...
So please, live a long life.
Eichi: I’m sorry, but I can’t promise that.
You could instead work to become someone for Tori to admire. That is your true wish, isn’t it?
It’s mine, too. I wish if at all possible, that I could become someone for Wataru to admire... I want to be an idol.
Yuzuru: That would require extraordinary amounts of effort, I believe. ...Pardon me, might I sit next to you?
Eichi: Of course. Now give me your phone~ I know you’ve been trying to contact Tori in secret. Today, though, you are my personal butler.
Yuzuru: My master is the only master I will have so long as I live. Goodness, you’re a troublesome person.
Eichi: So I’ve heard. ...Ah, the hero has arrived. Let’s greet him with applause ♪
Chiaki: “To all the kids from all over the nation! Welcome to our show! We’re the hero squad Ryuseitai, the pride of Yumenosaki Academy!”
“We’re going to unleash a Supernova... ☆”
Kanata: “hello everyone! i am happy to see you all~ ♪”
Yuzuru: Hm? It seems as though Ryuseitai is missing a few of its members.
Umm... is it just Shinkai-senpai and Morisawa-senpai? I recall a few first years, though.
Eichi: Fufu. Well, just wait and see. It’s all proceeding as planned right now... and everything is on schedule.
The original proposal had this as a simple hero show.
The “allies of justice” defeat bad guys like kaijin and kaiju, and it all ends in a happily ever after... or something along those lines.
It would certainly have been an action-packed and entertaining event, one without a dull moment to speak of.
But that isn’t what Dream Fests... what idol lives are about.
If nothing else, the student council couldn’t possibly have recognized it as an official Dream Fest.
It hurt to do, but I had no choice but to reject the proposal.
But they never gave up. They worked hard to revise the proposal by adding songs and dance numbers so as to make it a proper live.
And Supernova is the result of that.
Still, this was all quite sudden; the first years are too inexperienced to handle it all perfectly.
So the majority of the songs and dances will be performed by the two third years with more experience.
Such is the first half of Supernova, which is what we’re watching currently.
But for the record, the first years are indeed on stage. Do you see that costumed character over there?
Midori: ......
Yuzuru: Oh, that strange-looking... what is it? Is it meant to be a Martian or something similar?
Eichi: Hearing you talk about Martians somehow delights me, I must say...
They appear to be invaders from outer space of some sort, yes. Living in an environment without gravity, their skeletons did not develop properly, and so they resemble sea creatures.
Yuzuru: Hm... ah, there are more details about the setting in the brochure.
“The heroes who fearlessly oppose the invaders from space: Ryusei Red and Ryusei Blue.”
Eichi: Just what is the military doing during this, I wonder? Leaving the fate of the earth in the hands of two lone high school students... It’s not realistic at all; rather, I’d like to call it puerile.
Yuzuru: Do you not like hero stories, President-sama?
Eichi: I don’t. They make me sick. Yuzuru, how would you define a hero, exactly?[1]
Yuzuru: They are great people who possess both wisdom and courage—similar to our “Emperor,” in fact ♪
Eichi: No, I wouldn’t say that’s correct. A hero is a murderer, one who has been so drenched in blood that they can no longer be compared to ordinary people.
Caesar, Napoleon, Alexander the Great... each and every one of them, without exception.
They were criminals who invaded other nations, drove out foreign enemies, and soaked themselves up to their necks in blood...
To raise morale and unify their forces, these murderers were painted with pretty words.
And now we celebrate them as heroes. “Allies of justice?” What is “justice?”
It’s nothing more than a rhetoric they weaponized to justify their murders. It’s an empty promise.
There are too many people out there who don’t understand that. They don’t know the reality of those blood-soaked heroes.
The idiots who unquestioningly believe in these superficial, sanitized stories and call themselves heroes piss me off.
That’s why I hate heroes.
And I hate everyone who praises them, too. However, the hero Chiaki talks about seems to be somewhat different from the ones I’m familiar with.
So today I intend to find out for sure.
Whether Supernova succeeds or fails, I suppose an answer of some sort will be gained.
Yuzuru: Fufu. No matter how things develop, you always make it work to your advantage. I would expect no less from you ♪
Eichi: Don’t make it sound like I’m some sort of scheming mastermind, Yuzuru.
It’s only that I lacked a proper childhood...
I am not all that familiar with heroes, even though little boys are supposed to love them.
If possible, I’d like to learn everything about them from A to Z, in minute detail. Call it childlike curiosity.
Chiaki is an inconsiderate fool, but he’s not stupid. He knows many truths that I don’t.
Well, that could always be a misjudgment on my part, or an overestimation.
But I am looking forward to this, truly. Can humans transform into something other than monsters...?
Eichi: I want Yumenosaki’s “ally of justice” to prove it to me ♪
