Chiaki: Well, if you end up having any trouble, don’t worry! I’ll be back as soon as I can!

And Kanata’s here, too, which is pretty rare. You can trust in his abilities... ☆

So just listen to what Kanata says, everyone!

Tetora: Sigh... yeah, I’ll listen to my senpai. That’s how it goes in sports. Ossu.

Chiaki: You’re such a good kid! By the way, I’ve made copies of the latest version of our proposal, so I’d like you to look over it!

I made marks on all the parts that have changed ♪

Chiaki: It sure is! Apparently, the proposal I wrote up was just terrible all-around.

The transfer student was nearly in tears, but she did her best to revise it!

Midori: Jeez... this is the original proposal...?

“The bad guys (invaders from outer space!) are defeated by the heroes in a really cool way!” Seriously...?

I’ve been wondering this for a while now, but are you actually stupid, Morisawa-senpai...? There’s no way a proposal like this would be accepted...

It’s barely even a proposal; did a little kid doodle all over it...?

Oh, but the designs for the monsters and bad guys are cute... ♪

Chiaki: Aren’t they? I’m pretty proud of them! But I wish I’d paid more attention to the heroes’ costumes, too!

Kanata: chiaki~ is this Kaiju-san a flapjack Octopus perhaps~?

Chiaki: Huh? Is that its name? I used the sea creatures in that picture book you lent me the other day as reference!

Midori: This is probably a dumb question, but why are sea creatures invading from outer space...?

Shinobu: Hmm, so this is a mascot costume, yes? I am short, so I could wear it, but it might not fit Midori-kun because of his size.

Midori: Mm, well, I’d rather hug a mascot than be one...

But either way, I thought we were supposed to be the heroes. Why are we dressing up like kaiju...?

Chiaki: Hehehe... that’s part of the performance, you see...

Actually, you don’t want to wear the costume, Takamina? I thought you would like that sort of thing, but I see.

I was sure it would make you happy and get you motivated~

Mm... all right, so you’d rather see others wearing costumes than you wearing them yourself. That’s a shame! I’ve already made a sample specifically to fit you.

Midori: It’s not that I don’t want to wear it. I wish I could turn into a yuruchara...

But this is more of a monster than a yuruchara, isn’t it...?

Why’d you make a sample of it anyway...? You got it so quick; what’s the point of that...?

Chiaki: It’s a costume that had been made for some personal work I did, actually, and I just had the transfer student here modify it a bit.

Chiaki: Yep! You’re the tallest one here. If you can wear it, then everyone else can, too.

And it’s not like I was hugging you so many times for my own health! I know your size pretty well now! It was easy to get a sample made. Fwahahaha ♪

  1. The word for marker in Japanese is, wouldn’t you guess it, マーカー (maakaa). It’s not like, super forward, but I believe in this line, Kanata is amused by Chiaki’s choice in color, not only because it’s his image color but also because “maakaa” sounds very similar to the word for “bright red,” 真っ赤 (makka). It’s not substantial to the line or even an obviously intentional pun, so I’m leaving this to the notes.
